Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Ecuno ("we," "us," "the service") is currently operated by an individual, not a registered company. If you have any question about this policy or want to exercise a right described below, contact hello@ecuno.io — that inbox reaches the operator directly.
This policy applies to ecuno.io and dashboard.ecuno.io.
What we collect
Account data. When you register, we store your username, email address, and a bcrypt hash of your password (we never store your password in plain text and cannot recover it — a reset link is the only way back in if you forget it).
Uploaded files and project data. BIN files you upload, the map definitions and edits you create, project names, version snapshots, and datalog files you choose to import. These files are yours; we store them so the editor and version history work. We do not inspect, sell, or share the contents of your BIN files or projects.
Email. We send transactional email — account verification, password reset — through our mailbox at hello@ecuno.io via Hostinger's SMTP service. If you opt in at registration, we may also send occasional product updates. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Marketing email" below); it does not affect transactional email tied to your account's security.
Analytics. We use Umami, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, rough geography, referrers). Umami does not use tracking cookies and does not build cross-site profiles of individual visitors. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar third-party trackers.
Server logs. Like most web services, our server automatically logs IP addresses and request metadata for security and debugging (e.g. detecting abuse). These logs are not linked to your account beyond what's operationally necessary and are not used for marketing.
Payments. Ecuno does not currently process payments. If paid plans launch, that will go through a third-party payment processor (e.g. Stripe), and this policy will be updated before that happens — we will never store your card details ourselves.
Why we collect it (legal basis)
- Account and project data — necessary to provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract).
- Transactional email — necessary to operate your account securely (verification, password recovery).
- Marketing email — only sent with your explicit, opt-in consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Analytics and server logs — our legitimate interest in understanding usage and keeping the service secure, kept as privacy-preserving as reasonably possible (hence the cookieless analytics choice).
How long we keep it
Account and project data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete a project, its files are removed from active storage. If you want your account and all associated data deleted entirely, email hello@ecuno.io and we'll process that request — see "Your rights" below.
Server logs are rotated on an ordinary schedule and not retained indefinitely.
Marketing email
If you checked the "send me product updates" box at registration, we may email you occasionally about new features or changes. This is separate from — and does not affect — the transactional emails required to run your account (verification, password reset). You can opt out at any time by emailing hello@ecuno.io and asking to be removed; a self-service unsubscribe link will be added to marketing email once that feature ships.
Who your data is shared with
We do not sell your data. It is shared only with the infrastructure providers necessary to run the service:
- Hostinger — hosting and outbound transactional/marketing email delivery.
- No other third parties currently receive your data. This section will be updated if that changes (e.g. when a payment processor is added).
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (most of this you can already do yourself via account settings).
- Delete your account and associated data ("right to be forgotten").
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for marketing email at any time.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise any of these, email hello@ecuno.io. We'll respond within a reasonable time frame, generally within 30 days.
Children
Ecuno is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where practical, notify active users. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
